This alert applies to the following park:
- Bunya Mountains National ParkSouthern Queensland Country
Major works at the Dandabah picnic area and camping area will take place between Monday 31 March to Sunday 30 November 2025.
Current facilities closed due to construction include:
- Dandabah campground (for camping),
- Dandabah picnic area, carpark, toilet facilities and trail head,
- the Scenic Circuit including Festoon Falls and Pine Gorge Lookout,
- the Barker Creek Circuit including Tim Shea Falls; and
- the Bunya Mountains visitor information building.
Facilities open include:
- Dandabah campground toilets and parking,
- the trailhead behind the bat house for the Dandabah to Paradise walking track,
- access to Big Falls Lookout can be via either from the Paradise carpark or Dandabah to Paradise walking track; and
- all other Bunya Mountains walking tracks, picnic areas and campgrounds.
Noise and dust may result from construction activities during the hours of 7am to 5pm.
Alternative camping facilities are available at Westcott and Burtons Well camping areas.
Please monitor park alerts on the department's website for updated information.
Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
Facilities will reopen when construction is completed.
