Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting planned burning operations (weather permitting) from Tuesday 2 September to Friday 5 September 2025 (dates inclusive), as part of the fire management program for Ravenshoe Forest Reserve 1.
QPWS Rangers and machinery may be working along roadsides in the vicinity of Mount Ronald Road, Mount Pandanus Road, Arthur Baillie Road and Turner Road. For your safety and the safety of authorities, please slow down, observe all directions and signs and do not entre the burn area.
Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of the area, including around Ravenshoe. Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation.
Planned burns are vital in promoting ecological health, biodiversity, and the conservation of species and habitats. They also aim to mitigate the risk and intensity of bushfires and their potential impacts on communities, infrastructure, parks, and forests.
Public safety is the highest consideration in all QPWS fire management activities. To find out more visit the Fire management webpage.
