Beach camping zone 9 (Diray and Carree) is temporarily closed until 29 January 2027. This temporary closure is required due to severe erosion and fallen trees caused by large tides and ocean swell resulting in a reduction of accessible camp sites within the zone.

All permits for Beach camping zone 9 (Diray and Carree) are suspended for the duration of the closure. Sections between Ngkala Rocks and Sandy Cape may be impassable. Motorists are advised to exercise caution at all times, plan ahead by checking tide times, and only travel around the lowest expected low tide, if safe to do so.

Rangers will continue to monitor the conditions and reopen the camping zone when deemed safe. 

Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
