This alert applies to the following park:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting a planned burn (weather permitting) from 24 September 2025 until deemed safe, as part of the fire management program for Samford Conservation Park.

During the planned burn these areas are closed to public access:

  • The Iron Bark Gully Day Use Area
  • IBG Break
  • Three Ways Rd,
  • Geigers Rd
  • IBG East Break
  • Parts of Samford Rd Break
  • Parts of School Outer Break

Mountain Bike Tracks: 

  • Track 1 - Pipeline
  • Track 2 - Water Tank
  • Track 3 - Fitness Trail

Smoke may be seen in the vicinity of Samford, Ferny Grove, Ferny Hills, Arana Hills Camp Mountain, Draper, Bunya, Upper Kedron . Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation.

Please monitor park alerts on the department's website for updated information.

Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.

Facilities will reopen when conditions are considered safe.
