This alert applies to the following parks:
- Spicers Gap Road Conservation ParkBrisbane
- Lockyer National ParkBrisbane; Queensland Country
- Main Range National ParkBrisbane; Queensland Country
- Main Range Conservation ParkBrisbane; Queensland Country
- Scenic Rim Trail, Main Range National ParkBrisbane; Queensland Country
- Esk National ParkBrisbane
Queensland Fire Department (QFD) has declared a Local Fire Ban for Lockyer Valley, Somerset and Scenic Rim, which includes sections of the above parks and forests within this local government area.
Until further notice, open fires must not be lit anywhere in:
- Esk National Park
- Lockyer National Park
- Main Range Conservation Park
- Main Range National Park
- Spicers Gap Road Conservation Park
- Scenic Rim Trail, Main Range National Par
The following are not permitted:
- Open campfires and fires in braziers, drums and other open containers.
- Appliances using wood, timber or solid manufactured fuels (e.g. Oz-pigs, kettle barbeques and similar appliances); and
- use of QPWS supplied fire-rings and wood-fired barbeques.
Gas and electric barbecues including gas and spirit stoves, are permitted to be used if they:
- do not have the potential to generate airborne embers or ignite nearby ground fuels.
- are not left unattended; and
- are suitably contained.
