Bushfire alert for Gheebulum Kunungai (Moreton Island) National Park Due to a current bushfire, some areas are temporarily closed in Gheebulum Kunungai (Moreton Island) National Park. Bushfire response activities are in progress and QPWS Rangers will continue to manage the situation. The area may also remain closed for a period after the bushfire to ensure the area is safe

Closed areas:

• Telegraph and Tempest Track
• Eagers and Midnight Track

All permits for closed areas are suspended for the duration of the closure.

Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas. Public safety is the highest consideration in all QPWS fire management activities. To find out more visit the Fire management webpage.

Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
