This alert applies to the following parks:
- Dryander National ParkWhitsundays
- Conway National Park and Conway Conservation ParkWhitsundays
Queensland Fire Department (QFD) has declared a Local Fire Ban for the Whitsundays Regional Council area which includes sections of the above parks and forests within this local government area.
The QFD fire ban applies from 0100hrs 8 October 2025 to 2359hrs 21 October 2025.

Until further notice, open fires must not be lit anywhere in:
- those areas listed above.
The following are not permitted:
- Open campfires and fires in braziers, drums and other open containers
- Appliances using wood, timber or solid manufactured fuels (e.g. Oz-pigs, kettle barbeques and similar appliances); and
- use of QPWS supplied fire-rings and wood-fired barbeques.
Gas and electric barbecues including gas and spirit stoves, are permitted to be used if they:
- do not have the potential to generate airborne embers or igni nearby ground fuels.
- are not left unattended; and
- are suitably contained.
Please monitor park alerts on the department's website for updated information.
Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
