This alert applies to the following parks:

Wallaman Falls camping area is temporarily closed for redevelopment from Wednesday 8 April to Friday 16 October 2026 (dates inclusive). All visitor facilities, lookouts and tracks surrounding Wallaman Falls lookout remain open during this time.

Temporary closure includes:

  • Wallaman Falls camping area and adjacent creek access
  • Pack Trail walkers’ camp
  • Banggurru walking track
  • Wet Tropics Great Walk between Wallaman Falls camping area and Yamanie turn-off at Herbert River (during this period walkers can begin the Wet Tropic Great Walk at Yamanie pick-up point or Henrietta gate pick-up point).

For your safety, please adhere to all safety signs and do not enter the construction site as machinery may be in operation.

Future bookings:

Due to changes being made to the camping area configuration, bookings after Thursday 7 April 2026 are not possible. Bookings will resume closer to the camping area reopening date.
