This alert applies to the following parks:

- K'gari Great WalkFraser Coast
- K'gari, Great Sandy National ParkFraser Coast
Severe erosion has occurred at the Inskip barge landing beach access tracks due to natural coastal processes and ongoing tidal inundation.
As a result of the erosion, the entrance and exit tracks have merged into a single narrow lane, requiring vehicles travelling in both directions to share the same track. These conditions are most constrained during high tide periods, when available beach width is minimal.
Visitors are strongly advised to plan travel two hours either side of low tide only, proceed with caution through the single-track section, and allow additional time for delays.
Barge operations and recommended travel times may change in response to tides and weather conditions. Visitors travelling to K’gari via the Inskip barge landing must remain up to date with Mantaray Barge advice prior to departure.
Coastal conditions are dynamic and may change rapidly. Remember:
• Check tide times – only travel 2 hours either side of low tide to K’gari.
• Only access the Inskip spit barge area when safe to do so.
• Keep barge access area clear (fishing or swimming or parking vehicles near barge access is prohibited – you will be moved on if impeding traffic. Camp in fenced areas when possible.)
