This alert applies to the following park:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting a pest management control program in the Sandy Point section of Byfield National Park from 23 April 2026 – 31 December 2026 as part of the conservation management program for the park.

All control activities are conducted in accordance with Byfield National Park Pest Strategy and help to protect native plants and wildlife from harmful effects of introduced plants and animals.

Trapping, poisons and firearms may be used during this period.

As a result, please stay close to the internal road, walking track and within 10m of the toe of the sand dunes on Farnborough beach.

Commercial tour operators and other permit or agreement holders are not permitted to enter closed areas.

Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
