This alert applies to the following park:
The high tide access track from Middle Road to Cowan township is currently closed due to severe erosion.
Severe weather has caused significant erosion affecting the high tide access track running from Middle Road to Cowan township. Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) and the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation (QYAC) Rangers advise that the track is closed until further notice. Motorists are advised to plan travel through this area no later than three hours either side of low tide, as the beach is impassible at high tides.
Drivers are advised that detour and safety signage is in place to redirect traffic while the access track is unusable.
Due to the changed conditions the visitor experience may be affected.
Please monitor park alerts on the department's website for updated information.
Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
