Diamantina National Park will be temporarily closed to the public between 27 September to 3 October 2026 inclusive while Queensland Parks and Wildlife (QPWS) conduct a pest control program. This program aims to protect the values of the National Park by reducing the impacts of feral pigs on the riverine and permanent and ephemeral wetlands. Diamantina National Park will be closed to all public access for the duration of the pest management program. Closed areas include all vehicle tracks and campgrounds.
Campers with an existing camping booking during this closure, please cancel and request a refund online.
Facilities will reopen when the event is completed.
Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
