Waddy Point Beach Front Camping Area will have new campsite booking restrictions in place from 14 August until 15 December 2026. The campsite restriction is required to manage heightened risks of a habituated dingo pack damaging property, ripping tents, and accessing food from unsecured eskies and fridges, and to allow active dingo behavioural management to be undertaken by QPWS Rangers.
Existing bookings made before 14 August 2026 are still valid for the duration of the closure and the area will be subject to increased QPWS Ranger monitoring and dingo behavioural management activities. Abide by all dingo safety messaging and Ranger directions.
Families with children are strongly encouraged to stay in fenced camping areas (Waddy Point Top, Dundubara, Eli Creek, One Tree Rocks, Cornwells, Wongai).
If you have an existing booking and wish to cancel and rebook in another camping area or request a refund online for your existing Queensland National Parks camping or vehicle access booking/s, please do so via 🔗 parks.desi.qld.gov.au/camping/how-to-make-a-booking/cancel-a-camping-booking
Alternate camping areas, subject to booking availability, include Waddy Point Top (fenced), Dundubara (fenced), and Zones 7 and 8 unfenced beachfront camping areas.
