Planned site rehabilitation, maintenance and hazardous tree works in the Inskip Peninsula Recreation Area will commence Monday 26th 2026 October until Friday 12th March 2027.

 As a result, the following camping areas will be closed during the following periods: 

• Sarawak West  - 26 October 2026 - 6 November 2026 (Incusive)
• Pelican Bay - 26 October 2026 - 6 November 2026 (Inclusive)
• M.V. Sarawak - 23 November 2026 - 4 November 2026 (Inclusive)
• S.S. Dorrigo - 1 February 2027 - 13 February 2027 (Inclusive)
• Dorrigo South - 1 Feruary 2027 - 13 February 2027 (Inclusive)
• M.V. Beagle - 1 March 2027 - 12 March 2027 (Inclusive)
• M.V. Natone - 1 March 2027 - 12 March 2027 (Inclusive)

All permits for closed areas are suspended for the duration of the closure. Alternate camping areas are available at Inskip Peninsula camping area for the duration of the closures.

Apply for a camping permit refund online at www.qld.gov.au/camping. Log into your account and cancel your booking to receive an automatic refund or request to change your booking to another camping area at Inskip. Alternatively, send an Email request to qpws@des.qld.gov.au to request a refund, or change your booking to another area at Inskip.
