Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting planned burn operations (weather permitting) between Friday 4 September and Friday 18 September 2026 (dates inclusive) within Mount Windsor National Park. Aircraft will be operating in these areas during this period.

There is no public access to Mount Windsor National Park.

Most fire activity is expected to self-extinguish by evening, however, some fire may remain active and smoke may be visible for 2 to 3 days following ignition. QPWS will monitor fire activity until it is out.

Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation, should close windows and doors and keep medications close by if suffering from a respiratory illness.

The aim of these planned burns is to maintain a healthy forest environment and reduce the potential threats from bushfires in periods of dangerous fire weather.
