A bushfire is currently burning within Boodjamulla National Park (Aboriginal Land). Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) Rangers and firefighting crews are responding and actively monitoring the situation.

For visitor safety, access restrictions and temporary closures may be implemented as conditions change. 

At visitor locations: Lawn Hill Gorge section and Riversleigh D-site section:

• Bushfire smoke may be present in the area.
• Firefighting vehicles and aircraft may be operating within and around the national park (Aboriginal Land).
• Visitor access may be restricted with limited notice.
• Visitors should remain alert and follow all signage and directions from Rangers.

For your safety:

• Be aware of smoke. Bushfire smoke may reduce visibility and affect people wtih respiratory conditions.
• Watch for emergency operations: firefighting vehicles, machinery and aircraft may be operating at any time.
• Stay informed. Conditions can change rapidly. Check park alerts and local emergency information before travelling.

Visitors are reminded that Boodjamulla National Park (Aboriginal Land) is a remote location, you must be self-sufficient, responsible for your own safety, and prepared for emergencies. In an emergency call Triple Zero (000).
