This alert applies to the following park:
Planned upgrades to the pedestrian bridges on the Mount Rooper circuit and Coastal Fringe circuit will be conducted from Friday 02 October to Friday 13 November 2026 (weather permitting).
Heavy machinery will be in use.
As a result, both trails will have changed access conditions for the duration of the planned works:
- Mount Rooper circuit will have a pedestrian detour in place around the first bridge on the trail.
- Coastal Fringe circuit will have a pedestrian detour in place around the first bridge located at the trail entrance adjacent to the Conway day use area carpark.
For visitor safety, access to the Coastal Fringe circuit will be closed from the Haywood Gully way turnoff to the circuit’s eastern exit. Trail users must return the same way they came.
Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from contractors and rangers. Do not enter the work sites or closed areas.
QPWS appreciates your patience and understanding whilst the planned works are underway.
Please monitor park alerts for Conway National Park for updated information.
