Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting planned burns (weather permitting) in tablelands parks between Friday 9 October and Saturday 10 October 2026 (dates inclusive).
The planned burn operations will be occurring within the following parks:
- Tully Falls National Park
- Maalan National Park
- Koombooloomba National Park
- Wooroonooran National Park
- Gadgarra National Park
- Ravenshoe Forest Reserve 1
No visitor facilities are anticipated to be impacted by these planned burn operations however smoke may be visible in the vicinity of Ravenshoe and Tumoulin. Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating effects of smoke inhalation.
Planned burns are vital in promoting ecological health and biodiversity as well as help to reduce the risk and intensity of bushfires.
