The Cooloola Great Walk, including all associated walkers' camps, will be seasonally closed from 1 December 2026 to 28 February 2027.
The seasonal closure is in place for visitor safety due to heightened bushfire danger, the increased risk of severe weather and associated hazardous conditions during the summer months.
The closure applies to the entire Cooloola Great Walk, including Brahminy, Dutgee, Litoria and Kauri walkers' camps.
All camping permits for the affected areas are suspended for the duration of the closure.
Conditions will be monitored throughout the closure period, with the possibility of an earlier reopening should conditions be assessed as safe.
