This alert applies to the following parks:

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting planned burn operations within Isolated sections of Conway and Dryander National Park, weather permitting, as part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests. As a result, smoke may be seen within the vicinity of Conway Beach, Proserpine, Airlie Beach and Cannonvale. The aim of this burn is to reduce the volume of forest fuels and to create a mosaic pattern of burnt and unburnt areas. This will help reduce the intensity of any subsequent wildfires and provide favourable conditions for natural forest regeneration.

Please monitor park alerts on the department's website for updated information.

Please observe all signage, barriers and directions from rangers and do not enter closed areas.
