Most fire activity is expected to self-extinguish by evening, however some fire may remain active and smoke may be visible for 2 to 3 days following ignition. QPWS will monitor fire activity until it is out.
No visitor facilities will be closed due to this planned burn, however smoke, firefighters and aircraft may be seen in the surrounding area.
Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation, should close windows and doors and keep medications close by if suffering from a respiratory illness.
The aim of these planned burns is to maintain a healthy forest environment and reduce the potential threats from bushfires in periods of dangerous fire weather.
Public safety is the highest consideration in all QPWS fire management activities. To find out more visit the fire management webpage.
