Yanks Jetty camping area is remote, island bush camping and can be reached by boat only.

Pitch the tent and spend the day snorkelling on the fringing coral reef. Enjoy the view from the lookout accessible via a ladder near the jetty.

Back at camp, enjoy the shade and take in the views across to the mountain ranges back on the mainland.  Stretch your legs on the Yanks Jetty walking track, which starts near the camping area. The track winds up through dry forest, passing by WWII ruins and leading to a viewpoint overlooking the bay.

Camping area features: remote, island bush camping.

Location: on the south-west side of the island, just north of Harrier Point.

Access: the camping area can be reached by boat only. There is a 'no anchoring‘ area offshore from the camping area but anchoring in the sand adjacent to the beach is permitted. The pontoon at Yanks Jetty is available for public and commercial vessel use and is managed by the Hinchinbrook Shire Council.

Number of sites: open area without separately defined sites. Maximum of 30 people.

Campsites are suitable for: tent camping.

Campsite surface: sand and grass.

Facilities: composting toilet, picnic tables, shelter.

Open fires: prohibited. Fuel stoves are recommended.

Generators: not allowed.

Essentials to bring: drinking water, rubbish bags and insect repellent. Read more about before you visit.
