Great Walks topographic maps

Four of the ten Great Walks of Queensland have brochures with topographic maps. These have been produced by Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS), in the interests of visitor safety. The QPWS topographic maps provide safety information and good orientation with accurate topographic data to help walkers enjoy walking through some stunning scenery without getting lost.

Be aware:

The on-screen, trip planner versions of the topographic maps:

• Are a good trip planning tool.
• Can be used to help book your camping.
• Should not be relied upon for use in the field as printing them from your computer screen may distort the topographic data; for your safety, purchase a topographic map brochure to take on the walk with you.

Carnarvon map sales points

The following outlets stock only the Carnarvon Great Walk topographic map.

Please note:

• Carnarvon Great Walk is closed from 1 November until the last day of February.
• The park is open all year, except during severe weather events or fire operations.
• Walkers are advised to complete a bushwalking advice form prior to undertaking the Carnarvon Great Walk, due to its remoteness and difficulty.
