Monks Tank camping area

Monks Tank camping area features open bush camping sites hidden in mulga woodlands approximately 26km from the park entrance. Awaken to an early morning chorus of outback birds.

Location: Approximately 26km from the park entrance.

Access: Via narrow unsealed road. 4WD vehicles and camper trailers recommended. Accessible by high clearance 2WD in dry weather only, check the weather forecast before you arrive. Entry is not suitable for large caravans.

Number of sites: Open area without defined sites.

Campsites are suitable for: Tent camping; roof top tent camping; swags; camper trailers; small high clearance (4WD) caravans.

Campsite surface: Dirt.

Facilities: Toilet (non-flush).

Open fires: Permitted, except when fire prohibitions or fire bans are in place. Bring your own clean milled firewood. Portable fuel stoves are recommended. Collecting firewood and the use of chainsaws is prohibited.

Generators: Not allowed, except for medical reasons (conditions apply).

Essentials to bring: All food and drinking water, sturdy rubbish bags, insect repellent, sun protection, first aid kit, reliable torch, vehicle spares and sufficient fuel. Read more about before you visit
