Planton Island

Planton Island camping area features a 'deserted island' experience, with tent sites nestled within the island’s dry rainforest. While the island cannot be navigated, a small sandy beach beside the camping area is perfect for beachcombing.

Camping area features: a 'deserted island' experience, with tent sites nestled within the island’s dry rainforest. While the island cannot be navigated, a small sandy beach beside the camping area is perfect for beachcombing.

Location: east of South Molle Island, approximately 7km east-north-east of Shute Harbour.

Access: the camping area can be reached by boat (only) at all tides. No anchoring allowed in area with reef protection markers. One mooring available for small vessel <6m.

Number of sites: open area without separately defined sites. Maximum of 6 people.

Camp sites are suitable for: walk-in camping.

Camp site surface: sand and rubble.

Facilities: toilet.

Open fires: prohibited.

Generators: not permitted.

Essentials to bring: drinking water, rubbish bags, insect repellent. Read more about before you visit.
