Walk through the rainforest past large buttressed trees and admire the exposed root systems. Take time to stop at the spot dedicated to the bird call recording pioneer, Andrée Griffin (1917-2012) and sit quietly on log seats listening to bird calls.

Sections of the track are rugged, including muddy sections, steep sections and sometimes roots and logs obstruct the path.

Getting there and getting around

Andrée Griffin walking track is in the Mount Spec section of Paluma Range National Park and is accessed from the council car park on Smith Crescent.

From Barrett Road, turn onto Mount Spec Road. Take Mount Spec Road through Paluma township, turn right onto Smith Crescent and park next to the council toilet block. Andrée Griffin walking track is 40m from the toilet block.

For a longer walk, Andrée Griffin walking track joins up with Cloudy Creek walking track and Witts lookout track.

Andree Griffin walking track is not wheelchair-accessible.

Opening hours

Andree Griffin walking track is open 24 hours a day. Access may be restricted during wet weather when creeks rise in the Mount Spec area and fallen trees or landslides occur along Mount Spec Road.
