Camping and accommodation

Camping

Camping is permitted at Mima Teti camping area in Tagalaka National Park. Permits are required and fees apply. Camping permits must be booked in advance as places are limited.

Picnic and day-use area

Adjoining the Mima Teti camping area is a day-use area on the bank of the Little River that has picnic tables. A parking area is located in the day-use area and toilets are located in the camping area.

Viewing wildlife

Along the bank of the Little River, where the camping and day-use areas are located, visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of this area. Sit quietly and you may be rewarded with a freshwater crocodile sighting, or a visit from one of the many species of birds going about their day. Birds you may encounter include egrets, herons, black-cockatoos, finches, kookaburras, kingfishers and rainbow bee-eaters. The rivers and wetlands in the park provide refuges for wildlife, especially during the dry season as temporary waterholes recede. The park has a number of wallaby and kangaroo species including common wallaroos and agile wallabies. Many animals are most active around dawn and dusk.
