Duwadarri viewpoint circuit track
Soak up dramatic views over Middle Gorge and enjoy birdwatching opportunities along the creek. Physically fit walkers can choose to walk up the short, very steep section by walking this circuit in an anti-clockwise direction. If you walk the circuit in a clockwise direction, you can tackle the steep section going down, rather than up.

Gaze at striking views over the red sandstone walls and blue waters of Middle Gorge at the Duwadarri viewpoint. Watch kites soaring above the lookout—they often nest along the gorge rim.
Walk along the cliff tops of the gorge rim and take in the beautiful views of Indarri Falls at the Indarri Falls lookout.
Physically fit walkers can walk up a short, very steep section by walking this circuit in an anti-clockwise direction. This circuit track is less strenuous if walked in a clockwise direction, as you can tackle the steep section going down, rather than up.
This circuit track can be accessed from the concrete path along the creek from the Middle Gorge day-use area.
Getting there and getting around
The Duwadarri viewpoint circuit track is in Boodjamulla National Park (Aboriginal Land) in remote north-west Queensland, close to the Northern Territory border, 270km north-west of Mount Isa.
- The Duwadarri viewpoint circuit track can be accessed from the car park in the Lawn Hill Gorge section of the national park (Aboriginal Land).
- From the car park, follow the signs to the walk along Lawn Hill Creek and Middle Gorge. Follow the concrete path west along the creek bank and then turn left, where signed, to walk the Duwadarri viewpoint circuit track.

Wheelchair access
There are no wheelchair-accessible facilities.
Drinking water
- BYO drinking water. There is no drinking water along the track. Water available at the camping area is non-potable and is not suitable for drinking.
- Don't drink water straight from Lawn Hill Creek as it can make you very thirsty because of the high levels of calcium carbonate. Please do not waste water.
