Broadwater

Four-wheel-drive (4WD) your way to Broadwater to enjoy the waterhole near a shaded picnic area. Roads are not suitable for conventional vehicles.

Pack the 4WD and take the family on a daytrip to Broadwater, in the northern section of D’Aguilar National Park.

Laze beneath tall, majestic gum trees at the picturesque day-use area and enjoy the company of local wildlife residents—koalas, kookaburras and lace monitors.

Take a short stroll to Neurum Creek where a forest-fringed waterhole provides a popular spot for a refreshing swim.

For your safety, take care near waterholes. Never dive or jump into water; it may be shallower than it looks and there could be hidden, submerged objects.

  • Take care on wet and slippery rocks.
  • Always keep children under close supervision.

Getting there and getting around

Broadwater day-use area is in the northern section (Mount Mee) of D'Aguilar National Park, about 97km from the city of Brisbane and 18km from Woodford, near the park's northern entrance via Rasmussen Road.

  • A 4WD or trail bike is recommended to access Broadwater.
  • The maximum speed limit on forest roads is 40km/hr and all road rules apply.
  • Read 4WD with care for important information on 4WD safety and minimal impact driving.
  • Read trail bike ride with care for tips on riding safely and riding with care.

From Woodford

  • Take Neurum Road for about 9km and turn left onto Stanton Road. Travel 2.5km and take the first right onto Rasmussen Road. Continue for 5.8km, Broadwater picnic area is on the left.

From The Gantry

  • Travel approximately 15km north along Lovedays Road; Broadwater picnic area is on the right.
