    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A wonderful place to visit and see koalas up close in a peaceful natural environment. The centre is clean, well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and informative. The educational displays are interesting, and the surrounding walking tracks make it a perfect spot for a relaxing day out. Best of all, it’s free! Highly recommended for families, tourists, and anyone who loves Australian wildlife.

    Good and well-maintained koala centre with free entry! 🐨 Plenty of picnic spots, short walking tracks, and only a short drive from Brisbane city. A perfect place for a relaxing day surrounded by nature. Amazing experience overall! ✨

    Had an amazing time here! Went on my own but it's definitely for the whole family. Kid friendly. They have a couple of feeding times and they explain more about koalas and the individual ones that love there. A few hiking trails, horseback riding trails and a park for picnics. I'm happy I found this gem on my holiday.

    This is essentially a beautiful tract of wild bushland in the middle of suburbia, where you can do walks in order to view (or hope to view!) endangered koalas 🐨, as well as wallabies, snakes, and several bird species. It also offers BBQ and picnic facilities in its picturesque bushland setting. We didn't spot any koalas on our visit, but we did see a wild wallaby (with joey!!) and a kookaburra, as well as many other birds and caterpillars. We enjoyed the talk at the Koala centre, and meeting the resident koalas there - and learning about them and how they came to be there. The staff are friendly and approachable, and happy to answer questions.

    A wonderful place to visit! There are 3 koalas 🐨 that you can see up close. The Koala Information Centre is very educational and will definitely make you love these little guys even more. Highly recommended for animal lovers and it is free entry.

About Daisy Hill Koala Centre

    Step into koala conservation

    The Daisy Hill Koala Centre is a special place to learn about koalas and their conservation. Nestled amongst eucalypt trees, the Daisy Hill Koala Centre features a large outdoor koala enclosure, as well as many interactive displays and important koala conservation information. The Centre is situated within Daisy Hill Conservation Park, which has long been a popular bushland retreat for people and is home to many native animals, including koalas.

    Opening hours

    • 10am to 4pm, daily. Closed on Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Years Day
    • Free admission

    During your visit

    During your visit, please:

    • keep noise to a minimum for the wellbeing of our koalas
    • take your rubbish home with you
    • do not bring your domestic pets inside the centre (please contact us if you require a certified assistance dog during your visit)
    • keep to constructed tracks in the conservation area
    • do not feed native animals.

    Group bookings

    Bookings are essential for groups larger than 10 wanting to visit the Daisy Hill Koala Centre. The centre is open for self-guided group visits from Monday to Sunday between 10am–4pm. Groups are welcome to attend the free public talks given daily at 11am and 2pm.

    To make a school or community group booking, please visit Queensland National Parks Booking Service, or contact koala.centre@detsi.qld.gov.au for more information.

    Daisy Hill Koala Centre provides curriculum-based lesson plans, teacher guides and resources for primary school excursions to Daisy Hill Koala Centre and to other koala bushland eucalypt forests. Suitable for Australian Curriculum Version 9.0.
