    A nice little park which was very quiet when we visited. Entry is along a short road to a carpark without a lot of signage, amongst the mangroves. Uphill ramp to entry to park. Staff are very nice & helpful. Cafe at entry. Unfortunately a number of animals weren't on display (bilby & tree kangaroo which we really wanted to see & fresh water croc) or not out (dingo). Not a lot of wallabies/kangaroos in walk through area. Koalas are always lovely including the 'wild' ones who are in the parks trees. A couple of animal displays but not at suitable times for us - croc, birds unfortunately. It is small & would think a couple of hours is adequate. The web site is pretty ordinary. Prices were fair but think could have been discounted when major 'attractions not on display.

    The park environment is very calm and well signposted. The bird show was informative and not too long. Good small variety of animals to see.

    Small park, good for a short stroll, id say kids under 8's to see a few animals ok. Crock feeding was highlight, only 2 snakes in the entry area. Other enclosures not much to speak of.

    Definitely the best wildlife park I've been to. So relaxed, well laid out and informative. The bird show was a highlight, as was being able to get close to the animals. The pedestrian access is across a main road and it's a long bus journey, but worth it. Thank you for an amazing experience 😊

    A local Gem. Not as busy as other places, much to its benefit. All of the rangers and staff were super friendly and knowledgable. Some great grounds and enclosures, and lovely scenery and walks around the outside. Really would recommend a visit.

    Notice: Nocturnal House closed for maintenance

    The Nocturnal House is temporarily closed for annual maintenance, and our platypus and other nocturnal species  are unavailable. However, you can still enjoy unique wildlife like the bridle nail-tail wallaby and connect with our Queensland Park Rangers. As a thank you for your understanding, general admission is half-price during this time.

    David Fleay Wildlife Park offers something for everyone! The park’s focus is on Queensland native species, particularly those that are threatened or rare to see in the wild, along with Australia’s iconic animals such as koalas, kangaroos, emus and platypus.

    Our daily show schedule is forever changing to ensure visitors hear more of our wildlife ambassador stories – ensure you ask for details when checking in at the Admissions Counter on arrival. Alternatively, explore the park on your own following the network of wide boardwalks that bring you close to our beautiful creatures – remember Fleays is the only place to see the shy bridled nailtail wallaby thought to be extinct for over 30 years! Use our park map (PDF, 4.9MB) to navigate around the park.

    Looking after the park

    You can help protect the park by observing these guidelines.

    • Please leave all plants and animals undisturbed.
    • Take your rubbish out of the park.
    • Keep to constructed tracks—shortcutting causes erosion.
    • Do not feed native animals—it may cause poor health and sometimes death.
    • Please do not chase or scare the wildlife.

    David Fleay Wildlife Park is a regional park dedicated to the memory of naturalist Dr David Fleay, specialising in Queensland native and Australian iconic species. A valuable asset to Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, David Fleay Wildlife Park combines community education, ecotourism and wildlife conservation.

      The David Fleay Wildlife Park is now home to a young male platypus called Wally. In January 2014, a member of the public found Wally injured and underweight. Now in his new home he is growing stronger everyday.
