    A nice little park which was very quiet when we visited. Entry is along a short road to a carpark without a lot of signage, amongst the mangroves. Uphill ramp to entry to park. Staff are very nice & helpful. Cafe at entry. Unfortunately a number of animals weren't on display (bilby & tree kangaroo which we really wanted to see & fresh water croc) or not out (dingo). Not a lot of wallabies/kangaroos in walk through area. Koalas are always lovely including the 'wild' ones who are in the parks trees. A couple of animal displays but not at suitable times for us - croc, birds unfortunately. It is small & would think a couple of hours is adequate. The web site is pretty ordinary. Prices were fair but think could have been discounted when major 'attractions not on display.

    The park environment is very calm and well signposted. The bird show was informative and not too long. Good small variety of animals to see.

    Small park, good for a short stroll, id say kids under 8's to see a few animals ok. Crock feeding was highlight, only 2 snakes in the entry area. Other enclosures not much to speak of.

    Definitely the best wildlife park I've been to. So relaxed, well laid out and informative. The bird show was a highlight, as was being able to get close to the animals. The pedestrian access is across a main road and it's a long bus journey, but worth it. Thank you for an amazing experience 😊

    A local Gem. Not as busy as other places, much to its benefit. All of the rangers and staff were super friendly and knowledgable. Some great grounds and enclosures, and lovely scenery and walks around the outside. Really would recommend a visit.

Visiting David Fleay Wildlife Park safely

    Getting there and getting around

    David Fleay Wildlife Park is located on the corner of Loman Road and West Burleigh Road, West Burleigh in Queensland.

    The park is located next to Tallebudgera Creek on West Burleigh Road on Queensland's Gold Coast. It is 2min from the Tallebudgera Creek Road turn-off on the Pacific Motorway (exit 89) and 10min from the Gold Coast Airport.

    Public transport

    • By bus:
      The Surfside Route 756 stops near the intersection of West Burleigh Road and Loman Road. From here it is approximately a 330m walk to the entrance of the Park.
    • By train:
      Trains operate regularly from Brisbane to the Gold Coast (Varsity Lakes) where connecting bus services can be accessed. For timetables and bus stops, visit TransLink or phone 13 12 30.

    Accessibility

    Most of David Fleay Wildlife Park is suitable for wheelchairs, prams and for those who find walking difficult. Pathways are a combination of concrete, bitumen and elevated timber boardwalks. Wheelchair accessible toilets are located in the cafe. There are accessible parking spaces available in the car park.

    Fuel and supplies

    Fuel and supplies are available at Burleigh Heads and at other centres on the Gold Coast.

    Walking in the local area

    The Tallebudgera Creek Regional Park walking track is 1.4km and links David Fleay Wildlife Park to Burleigh Head National Park through the Gold Coast City Council green space.

    • Stay on the boardwalk and tracks provided.

    Opening hours

    The park opens from 9.00am to 4.00pm seven days a week, every day of the year except Christmas Day and Anzac Day.

    Holders of a valid Companion Card receive free entry (one companion only), when accompanying a valid Concession Card holder who has purchased an admission ticket.

    Group bookings

    We offer special admission prices for group bookings made a minimum of seven (7) days in advance with a minimum group size of 10. All group bookings are a self-guided visit. Add-on packages including Ranger experiences, animal encounters and/or catering options are available.

    Pets

    Domestic animals are not permitted in David Fleay Wildlife Park.

    The Gold Coast has a mild, subtropical climate. Daily temperatures range from 20 to 28°C in summer and from 11 to 21°C in winter.
