Camping in Lochern

Camp by a permanent waterhole in the shade of coolabah trees.

Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag or camping booking details must be displayed at your camp site.

Park-specific conditions

  • Be alert and prepared for changes in weather. Even small amounts of rain in the park or the surrounding area can make roads impassable. If heavy rain or minor flooding occurs, move to higher dry ground.
  • Camp only in the existing camping area.
  • Camp fires are permitted in the fire rings provided, except when fire prohibitions or bans are in place. Bring your own clean milled firewood. Portable fuel stoves are recommended.
  • The collection of firewood and the use of chainsaws is prohibited in the national park.
  • Generators are not allowed, except for medical reasons (conditions apply).
  • The use of drones is not permitted in the camping area, refer to Drone safety and regulation.

  • Broadwater Waterhole camping area is surrounded by mulga and gidgee woodlands.
