Getting there and getting around

Bloodwood camping area is located in Conway National Park. From Airlie Beach travel southwest along Shute Harbour Road for about 11km and turn left onto Brandy Creek Road. Follow this road onto Forestry Road through to the national park car park.

From the Forestry Road car park follow the Conway Range trail for 19.1km to Bloodwood camping area.

Nestled among old bloodwoods on top of a ridge.

Location: 11.6km from Repulse Creek camping area; 19.1km from the Forestry Road car park and 7.4km from the Airlie Beach trailhead.

Access: the camping area can only be reached on foot or by mountain bike.

Number of sites: open area without separately defined sites (first in best situated!)

Camp sites are suitable for: walk-in and cycle-in camping only.

Camp site surface: dirt, grass.

Facilities: tank water (treat before drinking) and pit toilets.

Open fires: prohibited. Fuel stoves are recommended.

Generators: not allowed.

Mobile phone coverage: poor, occasional network coverage can be obtained at elevated points along the trail between Hayward lookout and Airlie Beach.
