Camping in Blackdown Tableland
Situated in the heart of the national park, Munall camping area is set in a quiet and shady forest close to popular short walks. Located 8km from Yaddamen Dhina via a narrow and winding unsealed (gravel) road, access is suitable for 2WD vehicles driven with caution. Access is not suitable for caravans and heavy trailers.
- Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag or permit details must be displayed at your camp site.
All bookings for camp sites at Munall camping area must be made prior to visiting the national park and well in advance during the Queensland school holidays, public holidays and the peak season (April to October).
Park-specific conditions
- Camp fires are permitted in the fire rings provided at each camp site (except when QFD fire bans and restrictions or QPWS-imposed fire prohibitions apply). Bring your own clean, milled firewood. Collecting firewood from the national park is prohibited. Extinguish your camp fire with water when you leave. It is recommended to use a fuel or gas stove.
- Camp fires are prohibited anywhere else in the national park.
- Camping is only permitted in the numbered camp sites at Munall camping area. Camping is not permitted anywhere else in the national park.
- Maximum length of stay is 14 nights.
- Generator use is prohibited within the camping area.
- Dogs and other domestic animals are prohibited.
- Drones are prohibited at Munall camping area, see Drone safety and regulation.
- No smoking (including vaping) within 10m of camp sites, toilets or other visitor facilities.
- Rubbish bins are not provided. Secure rubbish in a sturdy rubbish bag in a sealable animal-proof container. Take your rubbish with you when you leave for disposal or recycling.
